Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems Laboratory (rsgis Lab) has been founded in 1993 with a single HP workstation and ERDAS software. Rsgis Lab is now well equipped with a core staff of 4 seniors, 2 part-time instructors and 7 research assistants. Rsgis Lab handles projects, supports courses and serves many departments on remote sensing and GIS related issues. Rsgis Lab has collaboration with 21 MSc students and 10 PhD students from Geological Engineering, City Planning, Settlement Archaeology, Archaeometry, and Geodetic and Geographic Information Technologies. About 1000 students from 21 different disciplines has been taught by 12 courses offered by rsgis Lab staff.
